It's only been a couple or so days, but this is the first time he's had somebody directly message him. Otherwise, it was just communicating over the public network with other refugees. Over the past few days, ever since spending time with Ayaka, the effects of the yokai had begun to wane. The month was dying down, and a new slew of events awaited him on the horizon. Things he'd been thinking about as he thought of looking at June as a fresh start.

But when he receives her text... He types. Then deletes. Gets midway through another message? Backspaces. Before finally, ]

[ She doesn't mind the delay in response, but she's at least a lot more confident when she texts him. She does have an objective, after all. ]

We discussed a few days ago to begin rehearsing together when the next month begins. I have to cancel our plans.

My brother has procured a home for us in Kyoto, and I've been preoccupied with decorating it.

I intend to be done by the 1st, and will be hosting a small lunch gathering as a housewarming. Won't you come as one of my guests, instead?

[ She mentions cancelling their plans to begin rehearsal straightaway... He doesn't feel disappointment yet, only curiosity and a tinge of concern. But before he can ask if something's come up? Oh! So Ayato's already secured a proper home for them on both accessible ends of Nippon. It beats a simpler dorm.

Any other time, he might have given a more passive or dismissive answer. Say something like he'll "think about it" or if he didn't know them whatsoever? "Not interested." But when it's someone that he knows? Social skills needing some fine-tuning be damned, ]

[ Luckily for her? He's only checked his device twice since texting her back. Cloud's on the move, heading back to his dorm and walking. He stops at a street corner, leaning against the nearest wall as he reads her message. ]

[ He's been told about how Shinra was trying to turn over a new leaf. Hell, even Reno's mannerisms while familiar gave him different vibes. But...even still, approaching two months later, it's something of a shellshock to just accept that his relationship with the Shinra crew was more...amicable. Trust issues? Justifiably a bit. He hasn't seen Sephiroth again since he arrived, yet his change in presence still sits with him... ]

I'm busy tomorrow.

[ 8 p.m. on a Friday night... Cloud supposes if he was going to do this, he may as well get this over with. Put his concerns to rest firsthand, or prove them right. ...this is the part where he really wished he had the ability to summon his weapons from thin air, same as Noct. But sooner or later, the destined time comes, and Cloud's made sure to keep his evening schedule open as he deliberates what to do. Given the address, he's actually closer to the president's estate than he would have thought.

He's with Zack on this one. They picked a good spot that's just far enough. Sitting in his room, the time was 7:30 and he was deliberating something as his gaze falls upon the Buster Sword resting against the wall. ]

He could just as easily show up, geared up like any other day in SOLDIER. Rufus did say if he felt like dressing up. But as he stares at his massive weapon, and thinks about said attire...he's got an idea. ]

[ Sure enough, 7:59, with seconds to spare, Cloud's on his way up to the man's front door. He's not dressed in his SOLDIER uniform either, rather going for a navy blue haori with dark hakama pants, and a white undershirt. And somehow? That Buster Sword of his was still secure on his back, like it was floating. In actuality, he actually managed to hook up his suspenders beneath the haori so that it remain hidden, the magnet centered on his back still effortlessly securing the weapon.

...no he doesn't plan on keeping it there for dinner. Call it insurance. Knock knock. ]

IT HAS BEGUN

[ Cloud's just gotten in the door when he receives Ayaka's message on his magi comm. Whether his roommate was home or not, Cloud's going to at least get settled before coming back out to the living room. He huffs when he sees who it's from and the little poem that comes with, plopping down on his bed. ]

You did good. [ Her and her brother both. ] Things all settled down there now?

It has. I am rather tired, but my heart is still fluttering from all the excitement. I missed this feeling very much.
